Halcion withdrawal symptoms come on very quickly and often last for around two weeks to a month. Here is a typical timeline to use as a reference:
First 1-2 days
As soon as you stop taking Halcion, you will start to crave more of the drug. Halcion is usually tapered during detox, but your body will still likely react to the slowly reducing amounts with anxiety, restlessness and difficulties sleeping.
Days 3-5
This period is usually when “peak” Halcion withdrawal symptoms flare up, and it can be particularly tough. Your anxiety will probably increase, you will likely find it very difficult to sleep or even relax, and muscle aches and shakes are also common. However, these are all signs that your body is healing, and Linwood House’s detox team will make sure that you get all the support you need during this difficult time.
Days 6-14
As your body begins to adjust, the worst of the symptoms should be behind. You’ll likely still feel some anxiety and mood swings, but things should slowly start getting easier physically.
Weeks 2-4
By now, most of the physical symptoms will be gone, and you will hopefully be sleeping better. Any anxiety should now be manageable, but you may still find yourself a little grumpier than usual.
After 1 month
In the vast majority of cases, almost all Halcion withdrawal symptoms should be over by the end of the first month. However, a few people experience some ongoing issues and need ongoing medical support until they have all passed.
