UKAT’s Alumni Programme | Lifetime Support

Feeling a bit nervous about what comes after rehab? That’s completely normal and is also a major reason we created the UKAT Alumni Network. Whether you are looking for advice, encouragement or just someone to talk to, this community offers ongoing support and a chance to socialise.

At Linwood House, we believe that staying connected to people who understand your journey can make all the difference in your recovery. The UKAT Alumni Network provides a safe and welcoming space where you can share your experiences, celebrate your wins and, most importantly, have a lot of fun!

UKAT's Alumni

What is UKAT’s Alumni Programme?

UKAT’s Alumni Programme is a community of everyone who has been through rehab treatment at Linwood House and our UKAT sister centres. It is a place where you can get to know people who have been through similar experiences, build lasting friendships and continue supporting each other as you move forward in your recovery.

And the best thing? It is completely free! That’s right, once you have completed your treatment at one of our UKAT recovery centres, you are automatically part of this amazing community. Since launching in 2018, we have grown to over 1,000 members – and we are still growing every day!

Whether you want to celebrate a milestone, share what is working for you or just need some encouragement on a tough day, then UKAT Alumni is here for you.

How does being a part of the Alumni Programme benefit you?

At UKAT, we truly believe that connection is the opposite of addiction and our Alumni Programme is designed to make sure you are never left to struggle alone. Aftercare is crucial, of course, and while we offer free weekly group therapy for a year, our Alumni Network goes even further by giving you a community for life.

So, what are the perks of joining?

A readily available support network

With one of the UK’s largest recovery groups, you will have a built-in network of people who can empathise with your experiences and offer friendship and support. Whether it’s our private Facebook groups or in-person events, it’s a safe space to share, chat and lean on each other.

Relapse prevention

Relapse is one of the biggest challenges of recovery as leaving Linwood House means you will no longer have 24/7 sanctuary and support. Our Alumni Network offers guidance and encouragement to help you manage any emerging cravings and learn new coping skills for your sober life. It also gives you events and meetings to look forward to when you are having a difficult day. With that kind of backup, your chances of staying sober soar, no matter what life throws at you.

Renewed commitment and motivation

Staying connected with other Alumni also means staying accountable. It is easy to fall into old patterns once the structure of daily life in rehab is taken away but having a group of people who are rooting for you helps you stick to your recovery goals and keep making progress, day by day.

What to expect from the UKAT Alumni Programme

The UKAT Alumni Programme is here to keep you engaged and excited about your recovery. Here are just some of the fantastic resources you can expect:

Events

UKAT Alumni isn’t just about support – it’s also about having fun! Throughout the year, we organise exciting events like Christmas parties, Summer BBQs (when the British weather allows) adventure days and fantastic guest speakers. These get-togethers are a chance to reconnect with old friends from Linwood House, meet new faces from other UKAT centres and celebrate your recovery in a relaxed environment. Our Alumni events are hugely popular and are a great opportunity to have fun, make happy memories and celebrate the progress you have made.

Regular check-ins

We know that your recovery needs don’t end when you finish treatment so we stay in touch with regular check-ins to make sure you are doing okay. These check-ins give you a chance to talk about any challenges you are facing, celebrate your wins or simply chat about how things are going. These check-ins are designed to remind you that you are never alone in your journey and that help is just a call away whenever you need it.

A supportive community

When you join the UKAT Alumni Programme, you are joining a community that truly understands what you’ve been through and the journey you are on. It makes sure that you will always have a safe space to share your thoughts, ask for advice or simply chat with others who “get it.” The goal is to help you build real relationships that help you feel supported, encouraged and understood as you continue your journey to long-term recovery.
